My mum goes to
Lithuanian Embassy in Azabu these days to teach Japanese again,
but this time to His
Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania.
As far as I’m
concerned, I have a bit of a problem.
My mum sometimes has
lessons during lunch time there as the Ambassador is too busy to study in the
morning. She gets home at about 2.30, and then gives me my lunch – I’m starving
to death!
Well, er . . . studying
Japanese without lunch, the Ambassador is so brave!
Mmmm, I wonder if I’m
selfish a bit.
“I’m home! Pippyyyy .
. .”
“Ah, Mum, hello!”
“Listen, Pinot! The
Ambassador told me, last week he visited the Imperial Palace for the Ceremony
of the Presentation of Credentials,” she said and continued, “You know Pinot,
during the presentation of credentials of a newly appointed ambassador, it
happens that the ambassador will be driven to the Imperial Palace in a
horse-drawn carriage.”
“Oh, that one, I sometimes
saw in London for important ceremonies?”
“That’s right. The
Ambassador said that was his first time . . . er . . arriving in a horse-drawn
carriage.”
“Mmmm. Impressive!
Romantic! Well, I don’t know anything about Lithuania, but it’s a beautiful
country, isn’t it?”
“Absolutely!”
“Um . . . Mum, you
know something? I’m getting hungry.”
“Me, too,” replied my
mum.
