ももちゃん

 

この前泊まりに来た、猫好きのももちゃんがまたやってきた。そんなにボクに会いたいのか？ そんなわけないだろう。ところが、

「ハロー、あれっ、ピノがいない。ピノはどこ？」と、ボクを探している。やはり、そうなのか？？ ボクはゆっくりと、階段を下りていった。

夕食までの時間、ももちゃんはボクと少し遊んだが、後はストーブの前で、ずっとスマホとにらめっこ。なあんだ、やっぱりね。

ダディが庭から、コリアンダと大根の葉を摘んで来た。

今晩の料理は、コリアンダとセロリのサラダ、大根の葉と卵の炒め物、ダディの特製麻婆豆腐のようだ。ももちゃん手土産のボクの名のワイン、ピノワインも栓が抜かれた。

“Okay everybody, grub’s up!” マミーが大きな声で言った。

It's been one year since then.

I fell down a year ago. I’ve been ill for one year. 

I’m still under medical treatment, but I’m getting better and better these days. I think I’ll soon be feeling as right as rain again, with my medication though.

Maybe I cannot live to love my dad and mum as long as I want to, but I just want to live as long as I can.

“You’ve come to our lives to teach us about love, my sweetheart,” my mum said to me.

“Don’t worry Mum, I’m in high spirits, always!”

ああ、快感！

 

昨日の春うららかな陽気から一転、今日は何て肌寒いのだろう。

と、思っていたら、

「まだ薪が残っているから、ストーブつけましょうよ」とマミーが言うと、「そうだね」とダディが答えた。

そして、ボクは、

一瞬一瞬、優しく姿を変える炎にみとれ、その温もりの心地良さに、ああ、快感！

バーベキュー

三月上旬にバーベキューとは、珍しい。なぜかというと、アルフィーのパパがやってきたからなのだ。甥っ子のダン君と友達の三人連れで。

本日快晴、バーベキュー日和。ちづるちゃんも加わって、ボクはアルフィーのパパの膝の上で皆と一緒に楽しいときを過ごすことができた。むろんボクは何も口にできないが、決してほしがったりはしない。なぜなら、その前にさっさとランチをもらって、満腹だったのだ。

庭で皆と一緒にいられるだけで、ただただ嬉しいボクである。

Fire companion set

My dad paid M-san a visit this afternoon.

“M-san is Alfie’s papa’s mother, and she’s moving, so Alfie’s papa is coming back to Japan again to help her,” my mum said to me and went on, “she cannot use her wood burning stove anymore at her new place, so she’s giving us her fire companion set.”

“That’s very kind!”

“We are most pleased to have it, Pinot.”

That was our conversation the other day.

My dad came back with the fire set and log holder, he washed them in the garden, and placed them next to our stove.

My mum said: “Oh, gorgeous! Brilliant! Includes: a poker, tongs, a brush, a shovel and a strong stand. And look at that log holder! It’s lovely, isn’t it?”

“The brush’s worn out, but we can change this part later,” explained my dad.

“Oh, yeah? Absolutely perfect!”

I can sit or lie down, and warm myself at the fire in winter – fab!

“Er, spring is just round the corner, Pinot!” she murmured. 

'Zoo Photographs' on display

My dad’s ‘Zoo Photographs’ are on display now, in a café bar restaurant called ‘and’(previously Andi) in Higashi- Ueno, Tokyo.

The photographs are from his book, ‘PLANET ZOO 世界の動物園’.

It is a good opportunity to show his works like this.

Unfortunately, I cannot come to see the exhibits. I have to house-sit, always. What a pity!

Doll Festival

 

“Pippy, Pippy!”

“What!? What’s the matter, Mum? I’m sleeping.”

“Pippyyyyy …”

“Coming!”

“It’s Hinamaturi, Doll Festival, today.”

“So what!? Nothing with me, Mum! Girls Day today!”

“Well, it’s the day to wish good health and future happiness for girls, not for  boys, I know. But I’ve got hina-arare, sweet rice crakers, here. It’s a special day today, so I just wanted to offer you some. Besides, I wish you good health and happiness, always.”

“Aah, well, thank you, Mum.”

“And good news! That blood-red spot in your right eye has disappeared at last. You don’t need eye drops anymore. Well done, sweetie!”

Whoopeeeeeeee …

“Mum, I’ll give you pink ones because you’re a girl.”

“How sweet of you, darling!”

There are a lot of white ones for me. Haha.
