お祭り

昨日と今日、裏の神社でお祭りが行われている。一度だけボクは裏から廻って、勝手に境内に遊びにいったことがある神社だ。

昨日は、マミーの英語教室に、おはやしの音が響いてきて、ちょっと、やりづらそうだった。

今日は、朝からマミーはダディの写真小冊子の英訳の仕上げに専念していて、さっきやっと終わって、神社に行ってきたようだ。

ああ、そうそう、この間の日曜日も、マミーは浅草の三社祭に親友たちと行ってきたと言っていたなあ。

ボクは庭で楽しもう。ピーヒャラ、ピーヒャラ、ピーピーヒャラヒャラ……

Visit the vet

My dad cannot make it today, my mum takes me to the vet instead.

My basket is waiting for me at the front door.

“Pippy, Pippy . . . Where are you?”

“No way!”

I quickly go upstairs.

You can imagine how cutthroat our battle was.

I’m so timid at the moment in the waiting room.

Mother's Day

 

It’s Mother’s Day today. However, my mum is going out. 
But . . but, to see her mum. Well, it can't be helped.

What shall I do on my own? Mmm . . . er, either have a look at the beautiful roses or take a nap?

さあ、散歩にいこう!?

昨日からずっと降り続いていた冷たい長雨が、どうにかこうにか上がった今日の昼下がり。ボクは庭に出たいと朝から泣き続け、やっと、その時がきた。

庭からスタートして裏手にまわり、家を半周して勝手口でフィニッシュするのが、最近のボクの散歩コースである。

オー、そこかしこに水たまり。それに肌寒さがヤセっぽのこの身にしみる。

勝手口からヒョイと上がって、もう大満足で、ボクはとっととベッドに潜り込んでしまった。Zzzzz…

Cycling

“I’m home, Pinot!”

“Ah, Mum, you’re back.”

This afternoon my mum enjoyed cycling after a long time.

She had no Saturday class today.

“Pinot, you’re a good boy today. I’ll give you ice cream. . . Oh no! We’ve run out of ice cream!”

“Oh, it’s such a pity! Well, never mind!”

My Drip

Mm . . . er . . . now . . . um . . . 

“Done! Your drip, Pinot!” said my dad.

“Thank goodness!”

I'm given Ringer's Solution twice a week as my routine.

It’s a shame to stay at home on such a nice day.

Mmm, the back of my neck is still wet – disinfectant liquid – really uncomfortable!

バラが咲いた！

バラが咲いた。バラが咲いた。

とうとう咲いた、淡いピンクのバラが。

毎年、虫に食われてしまい、つぼみのまま枯れてしまっていたので、

何色の花が咲くのか、ボクは今まで知らなかったのだ。

他のつぼみも、つぼみのままで終わらないといいなあ、と思うボクである。

Peonies in bloom

One of my favourite parts of our garden is this section.

In our garden pink peonies are in full bloom at this time of year.

“Oh, Mum, some ants already!”

“My goodness! The flowers attract them, really,” she said and went on: “It’s hot today, isn’t it? I’ll give you ice cream in a minute, Pinot.”

“Mmm, perfect! That attracts me, really,” I nodded with a big smile.
